The arrival of Peter Wheeler at the helm of TVR brought excitement to the marque. He started by bolting a Rover V8 into the Tasmin, (it was known as the Tasmin V8 at first, then simplified to 350i). Tubular exhaust manifolds turned up the volume to what would become a TVR trademark, the much lighter engine, along with revisions to the suspension, brought a significant handling improvement. There was a Series II version from 1985 with larger rear lights and a lack of bonnet vents. Perhaps surprisingly there’s only around a 10% premium for the convertible.
