Of all the Turners, it was this model that sold the most. In 1960, the Austin A30 front suspension was replaced by Triumph Herald coil springs and double wishbones to give a more compliant ride. The curvaceous body styling largely remained intact, although the bonnet scoop fitted to accommodate the larger engines now being fitted took away some of the design purity of the older cars. Ford engines replaced the BMC A-series for the basic models – with most Turners being fitted with Anglia and Cortina power units. Back to basics thrills.
