URM 221 is a genuine UK supplied RHD matching numbers Triumph TR2 that was first registered on 25th June 1955. From an old brown 'buff' logbook we know the TR was in the Forest Hall area of Newcastle in 1963 and by 1970 the owner had moved to nearby Jesmond. Shortly after this the TR was taken off the road dry stored for many years until a major restoration began in 1990. Unfortunately the restoration was not completed until it was sold to one of our regular customers in York who has spent almost two years completing what has been a long term major nut and bolt restoration. The TR2 has now covered in the region of 400 miles since completion and is still running in.
The body was totally stripped down and treated to new floors, sills, inner and outer wings bulkhead and door skins. The panels were fitted by a Triumph specialist ensuring the completed shell was as new with attention to detail ensuing gaps and fit were excellent. The chassis was blasted and then painted and as a result the underneath of the car is as new. Brightwork was all replaced or re-chromed and painted wire wheels fitted, 72 spoke on the rear and 60 spoke on the front with new tyres. The upholstery was totally re-
