Bicester Heritage and Brightwells Auctioneers announce a partnership that will see regular classic car auction at the Oxfordshire site.
The country’s leading historic motoring community is soon to host a series of regular auctions.
Bicester Heritage has joined forces with Brightwells Auctioneers & Valuers to put classic cars and vintage vehicles under the hammer at the listed Oxfordshire site.
Brightwells – formed in 1846 – has been selling classic cars since 2005. Now Brightwells is to host three premium events at Bicester Heritage throughout 2017, with the first auction taking place in April.
The announcement of this new venture is another addition to the complex’s list of accolades: earlier this year Bicester was crowned Industry Supporter of the Year at the 2016 International Historic Motoring Awards.
And it’s not hard to see why. Bicester community is home to a range of businesses dedicated to the restoration, storage, maintenance and enjoyment of vintage cars, motorcycles and aeroplanes. There are more than 30 specialist businesses operating from the 348-acre Oxfordshire site. Businesses include vehicle storage, specialist dealers, upholsterers and vintage car radiator manufacturers, making Bicester Heritage a one-stop shop for classic motoring enthusiasts.
But Bicester is also a piece of history in its own right: the site is a Grade II former WW2 airfield, which was restored and regenerated over a three-year period to an incredibly high standard. Bicester Heritage has even been billed by Historic England as a national exemplar of constructive conservation.
And now, by partnering with Brightwells, Bicester has the facility to purchase and sell cars at auction.
The Brightwells auctions will take place on Wednesday 5 April, 2017, followed by another at Flywheel Festival on Saturday 1 July and a final event on Wednesday 25 October.
