1976-1986 ROVER SD1 3500/Vanden Plas specifications

1976-1986 ROVER SD1 3500/Vanden Plas specifications Classic and Performance Car

The SD1 was the final flowering of the Rover V8 line first masterminded by Spen King, Gordon Bashford and David Bache, although looking at its swooping Ferrari Daytona-inspired styling and BL vintage build quality, it’s hard to see the connection. Initially sold like hot cakes, but the shoddy quality soon started putting buyers off. Improved during its life, so the final models were fast, appealing and genuinely desirable, but always tarnished by the BL connection. Nowadays, there’s excellent parts availability and club support.
