It was this image that perhaps helped the Mini become such an asset for BMW, which later bought the remnants of BMC as the Rover Group. It was even more popular in Japan, which took the lion's share of the circa 40,000 Minis produced annually in the early 1990s.[60] It was seen there as a retro-cool icon, and inspired many imitators.

    £11,750 £11,750

We know this lovely, largely original low mileage Rover P4 100 very well having sold it in 2005, again in December 2014 to one of our regular customers in Essex and more recently to a long term local customer who has bought over ten classic cars from us over many years. MKS 265 spent nine years in regular summer use from 2005 and has attended shows and rallies across Yorkshire. The Rover covered 4000 faultless miles and on return to us after nine years sold immediately to a regular customer in Essex. After almost one year of enjoying the Rover, it came back to us in part exchange and has since been used locally covering around 500 faultless miles. MKS 265 has been slowly improved since 2005 and has been treated to various re-chroming work. Mechanically the Rover has been superbly maintained and has proved completely reliable. The car has had various ignition items replaced, a new water pump and a new speedo cable. During the 1990's the Rover was with one owner in West Yorkshire and receipts are with the car for new hoses, thermostat housing, de-coke head gasket set, brake shoes, wheel cylinders, calipers and pistons, brake discs, brake pads and new brake pipes. Between 1961 and 199

FOR SALE A truly outstanding Mini Classic Cooper with just 19,117 miles. EQUIPMENT Old English White roof, door mirrors, bonnet stripes, chrome brightwork, opening rear quarter windows, twin coach lines and decals, Mini winged bonnet and boot badges, halogen headlamps, headlamp levelling switch, heated rear window, cream faced instrument gauges, full width burr walnut fascia, beige leather gear knob and gaiter, driver airbag, side intrusion beams, perimetric anti-theft alarm with passive engine immobiliser and remote activation, internal bonnet release. EXTERIOR This classic Mini warrants little introduction having gained iconic status and is widely regarded as one of the most ground breaking and historically significant cars of all time. This late example is finished in its original British Racing Green and Old English White colour scheme (code WE0). The vibrant paint finish is simply stunning with a deep lustrous polished shine. All factory panels are straight and damage free with clearly defined seam lines. Even sharp eyed scrutineers will struggle to fault this example which is testament to the exceptionally low mileage and careful indoor storage. All trim sections, chrome work, badges and decals are in prime order. The driving lights are original fitments and fully operate. A truly exceptional example. INTERIOR Lavishly trimmed, the factory optional full leather interior in Stone Beige (Code SHJ), is in pristine order thanks again to the very low miles. Natural light veins to the steering wheel often worn smooth on most examples remain prominent but the gear knob colouring has faded slightly. The carpets are immaculate and the door cards are in perfect condition. The cream faced instruments set within the burr walnut facia function correctly along with all other controls. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The time proven Rover Group A-Series engine used in the final production cars utilises the 1275cc unit mated to the MEMS 2j controlled Multi-Point fuel Injection, lowers emissions and increases performance to produce a punchy 62bhp. The factory standard exhaust gives an unobtrusive rasp which adds to the mini experience. The spotless engine bay has chrome enhancement pack fitted to enable bonnet up exhibiting. The four speed gearbox is smooth, precise and a pleasure to use. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES The colour coded Pepperpot 12 inch alloy wheels with Mini Cooper centre logo caps are in fantastic order. The tyres are the popular Yokohama A539 165/60 R12 with masses of tread remaining. Also available by separate negotiation the factory original 12” sports style alloy wheels with factory Pirelli tyres. The servo assisted brakes incorporating front discs and rear drums bring the car to a prompt and assured halt. HISTORY FILE Registered new on 1st March 2000 by Rover Main Dealers Abercromby of Edinburgh, this example has covered just 19,117 from new with four formers owners, one of which bought the vehicle back after regretting the sale and missing it dearly. The history file is complimentary with the original Mini Service booklet containing dealer stamps and specialist stamps leaving no doubt to the meticulous attention which has been given to the vehicle maintenance. Furthermore, the history file contains supporting invoices and MOT certificates, all alongside the mini leather folder containing all handbooks and guides. Even the salesman’s business cards and security cards are still on show. Two sets of keys with remote fobs are present. This truly remarkable classic example guaranteed to delight any classic Mini collector and enthusiast alike. MOT January 2018, HPI Clear. A venerable old lady, now seeking a long term relationship with caring, genuine new owner! 'Esmeralda' is the 125th RHD 100 off the production line at Solihull. I use her locally & she is a very good starter but I suspect the battery is past its best! She requires some TLC but would reward a new owner with years of faithful service. These were beautifully engineered & appointed cars; as good as the Alvis, Rolls, Bentley & Jaguar of the day, yet are, compaively, as 'cheap as chips!'  Esmeralda is pretty much at the bottom price-range that you can get a 'turnkey' example of one of these wonderful old cars for. I've used her & continue to use her to go shopping/running around but have a couple of other old cars that I've had for a number of years & unfortunately cannot financially afford to give her the attention  that she deserves. I wish I could as she is such an endearing old girl... She will come with a genuine period workshop manual, period handbook, a rare period sales brochure & another couple of books, together with a DVLA history file. The 3no./3letter registion is none-transferable.  Her overdrive is not working at the moment & neither is the trip meter, timeclock, fuel gauge or internal engine oil indicator. Fairly minor, fiddly things to resolve.....but rewarding. The main 'gremlin', though, is a slipping clutch if enthusiastically driven (she's usually okay if driven sedately...) due to a leaking rear crankshaft oil seal - a new seal & clutch plate are provided. She will need some welding at the foot of the 'B' posts...perhaps some attention elsewhere underneath - not sure as she has not been on a ramp in my safekeeping...She's well shod with a good exhaust & the brakes pull her up & even the handbrake seems to hold! Although the original radio needs an aerial it does actually still work!  She's a lot of car for the money - a fine example of 'shabby chic' & deserves a good home for Christmas!....Ideal for the hands-on enthusiast who likes working on 'quality' vehicles yet still wants to be able to drive them... EDIT: (28/12/2016) May be prepared to listen to serious offers &/or offers of part exchange subject to cash coming in my direction!   EDIT: (11/01/2017) Now have DVLA history - appears that the original owner kept her for several decades...

Just 266 miles recorded The earliest Cooper Sport 500 in existence Perfect condition throughout To celebrate the final chapter of the classic shaped Mini that began life in 1959, a limited edition of 500 cars were produced and named the Rover Mini Cooper Sport 500. The classic Mini shape was retained but had the additional benefits of more modern mechanics and trim details. The best quality hides were used within the interior; the alloy dashboard, window winders and door handles were all a tribute to John Cooper. All of these last 500 cars were finished with Platinum silver roofs and stripes; every new owner also received a special gift with the purchase of the car. The most important item, however, is the certificate stating the car is a genuine Cooper Sport 500 which also bears the chassis number and the signatures of John Cooper and Kevin Howe, the chief executive of the MG Rover Group. There is little doubt that the once-humble Mini has developed into something of a collector's item, especially the more specialist and limited edition versions. After the success sale of the Wood & Pickett collection last year and previous Cooper Sport 500s, it is unsurprising that we have been a

This is another truly wonderful find. NFC 854 has to be one of the most original pre or post war Rovers we have ever owned. The car is remarkably original and has an unrepeatable level of patina. From an old 'buff' logbook copy we know our Rover was in Eastbourne, Sussex in 1962 and in 1977 the Rover was sold to a lady in Eastbourne. In 1985 the car sold to the proprietor of a London Rolls Royce and Bentley repair and restoration specialist, Mike R Berry who owned the car until 2007. What is even more interesting is the fact that our Rover has 24000 miles recorded on the speedometer and MOT certificates accompany the car dating back to 1979 with 18975 miles. This paperwork warrants the fact that NFC 854 has covered 5000 miles in 37 years. 28 previous MOT certificates show the Rover has been covering low annual mileage and having being owned by a restoration specialist, it has been maintained to the highest standards despite covering very low mileage year on year. In 1984 we know the Rover was treated to a new water pump, rebuilt radiator matrix, new thermostat and housing, new cast bottom water outlet, new starter solenoid and carburettor overhaul. The Rover was also treated to new

    POA POA

The Mini was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered a British icon of the 1960's and its space-saving front-wheel drive layout allowing 80% of the car's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage, influenced a generation of car makers. In 1999, the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century behind the Ford Model T. Initially Minis were marketed under the Austin and Morris names until Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969. The Mini was again marketed under the Austin name in the 1980's and was offered in a number of limited editions that usually included a special combination of trim and badging. First registered on 2nd March 2000, this Mini Cooper is described by the vendor as being 'a delight' and 'fun to drive'. The car is finished in black with contrasting cream and black trim complemented by a wooden dashboard. The Minilite wheels are in good order and she comes supplied with a V5 registration document and a full year's MoT test certificate. • Rover Speed 14 Streamline Coupe

    POA POA

Deposit Received The Rover Company commenced the manufacture of cars in 1904 and may be said to have achieved a position of pre-eminence during the 1930s. That decade witnessed a vogue for streamlining first observed in the Chrysler Airflow and soon thereafter widely adopted by prestigious manufacturers such as Talbot, SS cars, and especially Riley, with its range of Kestrel saloons. In harmony with this trend Rover developed and constructed their Speed 14 Streamline Coupe of which a total of 380 were manufactured from 1934 to 1936. The body work was aluminium and designed by Rover. The tuned six-cylinder engine of 1577cc was high compression; gas flowed and fitted with triple SU carburettors. Brakes were hydraulic in operation with finned drums and Rudge Whitworth centre lock wire wheels. The model was timed at Brooklands in 1935 at 82.57mph and being possessed of 54bhp clearly demonstrated its superiority in power and performance over its nearest competitor, the Riley 12/6 Kestrel. When the considerable saving in the purchase price over its Coventry rival was taken into account the advanced and highly specified Rover, with the Company at the peak of its fortunes, must have repres

The Rover P6 series (named 2000 , 2200 , or 3500 , depending on its engine displacement) is a saloon car produced from 1963 to 1977 in Solihull, West Midlands. It was voted European car of the year in 1964, the very first winner of this title. The P6 was announced on 9th October 1963, just before the Earls Court Motor Show. It was the sixth of the "P" designated Rover designs, and the last to reach production. The vehicle was marketed first as the Rover 2000 and was a complete "clean sheet" design intended to appeal to a larger number of buyers than earlier models such as the P4 it replaced. The P5 was sold alongside the P6 until 1973. Rover saw Buick's 3.5 L V8 from the Buick Special as a way to differentiate the P6 from its chief rival, the Triumph 2000. They purchased the rights to the innovative aluminium engine and once it was modified to allow its use by Rover, it became an instant hit. The Rover V8 engine, as it became known, outlived its original host, the P5B, by more than thirty years. The 3500 was introduced in April 1968 (one year after the Rover company was purchased by Triumph's owner, Leyland) and continued to be offered until 1977. The manufacturer asserted that the

1997 Rover 820 Vitesse Coupe Turbo 1994cc Turbo Manual This is a fantastic opportunity to own a very nice example of a very rare car. In it's a day a true executive car designed to flee the motorways of Britain. Now.. an elegant classic coupe still going as strong as the day it left the factory. With an extensive service history this truly is a special car to own. Registration Date: 01 August 1997 Mileage: 189900 Condition: Excellent Whitewall Approved Exterior: Common problems with these Rovers are the Sills rotting out. This has had a complete replacement of inner and outer sills that were professionally hand built to exacting measures at a cost of over £1200! The paintwork is almost immaculate over the car and really shows the car off in British Racing Green. The alloy wheels have recently undergone a full refurbishment and are once again in stunning condition complete with all center caps. Interior: Following on from the exterior the interior is just as nice. Well preserved and all original besides a hands free kit installed. There is a small amount of wear to the drivers bolster, mainly the piping but this does not detract from the condition of the rest of the interior. All the switches work, dials and screens illuminate correctly and the heated leather seats will keep you toasty. Mechanical: Although this Rover has covered 188k miles, you would not believe it. Having a comprehensive service history shows that this coupe has been looked after regardless of cost. It pulls strongly through all gears, glides around corners and pulls to a stop exactly as it should. There is nothing that would make you uncomfortable driving this everyday against a modern car. Overall: The condition and history of this vehicle is a rare sight among many cars, these coupes are getting rarer every year and there are few left as nice as this one. It drives beautifully and will be a very reliable modern classic for someone to enjoy. Special editions of the Mini are nothing new and have featured as part of the Mini's history since the late 1970s. One of the more exciting and rare versions, the 35LE was produced to celebrate 35 years of the Mini Cooper. Only 200 were manufactured and of that 200 only FIVE were made available to John Cooper Garages for conversion to this specification. The Mini offered here being one of these ultra rare conversions. Apart from the standard features of Porcelain green leather, Gun Metal grey Minilite alloy wheels and an elm dashboard, the John Cooper cars had Cooper converted cylinderheads producing 86hp (a 23hp increase over the standard 63hp), a special exhaust system, K & N filter elements, Koni shock absorbers, oil cooler and John Cooper stainless steel sill plates. This particular example has been the subject of a thorough restoration by the vendor to a high standard which has taken over 300 man hours of labour and approximately £6,000 in parts to complete. During the rebuild the Mini was stripped to a bare shell, and any corroded metal was replaced before the car was thoroughly re-sprayed in the original colour scheme. The engine was rebuilt with new main bearings, ends, rings and thrust washers. The gearbox was reconditioned by Mini Sport and the suspension was rebuilt.
