1953-1958 RILEY Pathfinder/2.6 specifications

1953-1958 RILEY Pathfinder/2.6 specifications Classic and Performance Car

The sleek Pathfinder brought Riley into the modern age, though its twin-cam four-cylinder engine was carried over from the traditional and upright RMF. Right-hand floor shift for the gearchange can take some getting used to, as can the handling. Later car got leaf rather than coil rear springs and were better in this respect. The 2.6 that replaced it was of similar style but taller, and was really a Wolseley 6/90 with a Riley grille and an extra 4bhp from its BMC C-series six-cylinder engine. Both are rare now, but offer a large slice of 1950s British wood and leather luxury.
