1962-1968 RENAULT Caravelle coupé/convertible specifications

1962-1968 RENAULT Caravelle coupé/convertible specifications Classic and Performance Car

America knew the Floride as the Caravelle. But from 1962, the name was used in Europe for a facelifted version, available as a coupé and convertible. The shape was largely the same, although some of the over-fussy ornamentation was dispensed with and passengers in the coupe had more headroom. The 956cc engine of the Floride S was initially used, still rear-mounted, but after a year, capacity rose to 1108cc. With 54bhp on tap, top speed rose to within a whisper of 90mph, but Renault never managed to resolve the handling issues. Add 25% for convertibles.
