1964-1970 RELIANT Scimitar SE4 Coupé specifications

Reliant’s next attempt at a sports car was the Scimitar SE4 and it was a lot more successful. The handsome coupé was originally designed by Ogle, and first shown on a Daimler SP250 chassis, but Reliant was so impressed with the design that it bought the rights and immediately set about putting it into production using the Sabre Six’s running gear and an all-new steel chassis. In 1964, it went on sale and sold well. Subsequent Ford ‘Essex’ V6 powered versions kept the factory busy until 1970, when it was phased out in favour of the Scimitar GTE.
