In the market for a factory restored Range Rover Classic? Hand over £135,000 and Land Rover Classic will build you one...
Jaguar Land Rover has announced that the Range Rover Classic has been added to the company’s ever-growing ‘Reborn’ program. It’s the second Land Rover model that JLR Classic has officially added to Reborn – following on from the run of 25 restored Series 1 models announced in 2016.
At launch, JLR Classic will rebuild a run of ten original Range Rover Classic models, which will be rebuilt using genuine parts, to the exact 1970s factory specifications. Customers can provide their own base car, while Land Rover Classic will advise on the most desirable cars to go for. Prices for a full restoration start from £135,000.
For its first Range Rover Reborn, JLR Classic chose to restore a Bahama Gold 1978 three-door model, complete with the original 3.5-litre Rover V8 engine and four-speed manual gearbox. Land Rover Classic makes a point of noting that the Reborn program will ‘preserve and protect the vehicle’s authenticity’.
Tim Hannig, director of Jaguar Land Rover Classic, said: ‘Range Rover Reborn is another showcase of our dedicated in-house engineering expertise. It underscores our commitment to nurturing the rich heritage of Land Rover, and is a rare opportunity for customers to own a valuable and genuinely collectible automotive icon. It is a wonderful way to preserve the much sought after three-door original Range Rover from the 1970s, from period-correct colour ways to interior trim and accessories.’> Take a look at Range Rover Classics for sale in the classifieds
