1989-1993 PORSCHE 944 S2 specificationshttp://www.classicandperformancecar.comClassic and Performance CarClassic and Performance Car
For the 1989 model year the S2 replaced both standard and ‘S’ spec 944s. A new aluminium cylinder block employing Formula One technology allowed a capacity increase to three litres. Power was up 21bhp on even the 944S, and torque took an even bigger jump. Externally the S2 adopted the lower drag nose and tail panels from the Turbo, which along with a taller final drive ratio helped it to hit almost 150mph. The Turbo’s braking system was also adopted. For the final two years of production a Cabriolet version was also offered. Add 25% for those.
