The 918 is built by hand, right down to the valvetrain.
Porsche have released a video of their ground-breaking 918 being built up at their Zuffenhausen factory, Germany.
The Porsche 918 Spider is one of the finest supercar's produced in recent history and almost certainly among the most groundbreaking. The 875bhp, 4.6-litre V8-engined beast is one of the most advanced cars ever put into production, on par with the best McLaren and Ferrari have had to offer since the birth of the hybrid supercar two years ago.
So how does such a car come together? Luckily for us, Porsche have opened the doors and pressed ‘record’ on the camera to show us, to bring us this video showcasing the birth of the last handful of 918 Spider’s to roll off the production line.
Much of it is done by hand, much is done in silence, and all is done as the absolute last word in precision production. As the video shows, it’s pretty spectacular.
