Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.0L Evocation (1974) In 1974, after the huge success of the 911 2.7RS, Porsche pushed the homologation regulations to the limits to develop 3.0L, adding new bodywork such as the now iconic wide rear arches and ‘whale tail’. 917 brakes were also fitted to the 3.0L to provide sufficient stopping power for the now, 230hp engine. With 59 road-going examples and only 6 of which were RHD, this makes the 1974 911 Carrera RS 3.0 one the rarest Rennsport 911’s available. This Evocation we have for sale, started life as a Porsche 911 2.7 MFI manufactured in 1973, first registered in 1974 and still retains its original 2.7 911/83 RS spec engine. Being a period correct car, it was the perfect basis for the recreation of a 3.0L RS. Respected specialist Autofarm, were entrusted with the work circa 1992, and their knowledge of the original cars ensured many period correct features were incorporated during the build.
