Last of the second generation 911s and still a viable daily driver if that’s what you want. The choice of Coupé, Targa and Cabriolet (worth perhaps £2000 more now) continues from the SC, though all now have 150mph capability. Even better, fuel economy has been further improved and beats practically everything else in this class. Can be had with either the standard or wider Turbo-look body complete with spoilers and wide wheels. Despite more drag and an extra 50kg blunting performance, this was the bigger seller. The 1987 model year gets an improved five-speed gearbox.
