1972-1973 PORSCHE 911 Carrera 2.7 RSL/RST specifications

1972-1973 PORSCHE 911 Carrera 2.7 RSL/RST specifications Classic and Performance Car

A homologation special to qualify Porsche for sub-3.0-litre GT racing. They had to build 500, but wound up selling three times that. The basis was the 2.4S, but with a big-bore engine and every conceivable means of lightening the car, from thinner steel panels to throwing away the rear seats. The first 911 to have wider rear than front wheels, there were 200 RSLs – really a race car you can drive on the road, and 1360 of the slightly softer RST (T for Touring), which actually contained a few creature comforts. Of course the racer is more valuable, so add another 50% for their prices.
