1972 Porsche 911S VIN: 9112301236 In 1972 the 911S was the Porsche's top-of-the-line road car. New for 1972 was the larger 2.4-liter engine with Bosch fuel injection, and the new and stronger Type 915 transmission derived from the Porsche 908 racecar. It was a truly impressive sports car, with a weight of only 2,250 pounds the 181 horsepower 911S could go 0-60 in seven seconds and hit a top speed of 143mph. Today it is one of the most sought after Porsches. This striking, tangerine 911S optioned with sport seats and a 5-speed transmission was completed at the Porsche factory in April of 1972. It would quickly make it way to the US and was purchased soon after on May 19th 1972. The first owner, Earnest McGill of Lincoln NE, is documented in the original Porsche Maintenance Record book. Dealer maintenance stamps go all the way from new to April 1980 at 43,117 miles. The car would go through a series of collectors over the years, with one that would own the car twice.
