Up for sale is my 1965 Porsche 356 SC. Full engine disassembly, cleaning, inspection and rebuild including new main bearings measuring standard crank/standard case; heads were totally disassembled and rebuilt with new valves and guides; engine has new Reinz gasket and seals installed; powder coated engine tin and heater flapper boxes which are fully connected and functional. Engine was run on on an engine test stand outside of the vehicle where timing and carb adjustment, valve last was set. Oil pressure gauge was mounted on engine and showed 25 lbs at idle and 40-55 lbs when engine was revved. All prior paint on the car was stripped, and car was brought down to the metal. The closing panels are pristine and one can see the spot welds all the way up into the inside of the fenders. No undercoating was put under the fenders so that you could see how nice and clean the welds are. New installation of Stoddard floors, jack spurs and battery box. Longitudinals are original to the car. Even gaps throughout, engine lid and hood close evenly. Doors close with a nice "thunk". Car was color matched through a Willhoit Togo Brown color sample. Interior color was changed from black to red. Full transmission removal, disassembly, inspection and then resealed, topped off with new fluid. Clutch is excellent and the transmission pulls well through all 4 forward gears with no problems whatsoever, gear shifts are smooth and clean, reverse works perfectly.

The factory Kardex which accompanies this fabulous 356 coupe confirms that is a genuine SC model which retains its original engine and is still finished in its original colour scheme of Dolphin Grey with blue trim, including headrests. The letter from Porsche that accompanies the Kardex, dated 1988, mentions that the then owner, a USAF Major from Ohio, was in the process of restoring the car to original condition. For the last few years the car has resided in California and remains in immaculate condition throughout, driving superbly as one would expect from the ultimate incarnation of the non-Carrera 356's, fitted as it is with the 95bhp engine option and disc brakes front and rear.
