First Registration: 1st June 1963,Mileage: 800,Owners: 5,The 356A was a huge success selling over 20000 units during its production. However customer demand for new, better performing models continued to grow with Porsche answering the publics call with the 356B. Following the design ethos of Porsche evolution the 356B looked very similar but in fact had received a number of updates. This included revised bumpers which sat higher up, the headlamps made more vertical and the bonnet redesigned for easier loading of luggage. The 356B was like its predecessor a huge success selling roughly 31000 examples during its 4 year life.,The 356 we have here today is a RHD, UK car registered in June 1963. The car is all matching numbers with the most notable change being the paint colour which was originally Oslo Blue. The decision made during the restoration changed the exterior to Ruby Red an original Porsche colour available at the time of production., At the early part of the cars history it made its way to America where it spent a number of years being driven and enjoyed. The 356B was then moved on and exported to Ireland where the next owner enjoyed their time with the car. Following this the Irish owner then moved the car to a client in Holland which is where it was then moved again and brought back to the UK where the car was originally registered.,The 356 offered today has been subject to a full photographic nut and bolt restoration and now includes a number of highly desirable GT enhancements. All parts used are either the originals that have been restored or have been supplied new by Porsche. Invoices supporting the restoration come complete with the file. The bodywork was completed by the renowned Lee Patterson with any new/required panels supplied by Trevor's Hammer Works again another renowned name in the Porsche world. The car was then painted by Heaton Coachworks to bring the car to the outstanding condition you see today.,The Engine Gearbox and Running Gear were fully restored upgraded and rebuilt by Andy Prill which included;, Shasta (1720cc) pistons and cylinders, lightened flywheel, Kennedy race clutch, Nuetek ZH2 high lift cam, chromoly push rods etc., The engine also received a twin spark conversion, receipts of which are available to view in the cars file.
