1977-1988 PEUGEOT 305 specifications

The 305 was another intelligent, if understated Peugeot that was more accomplished to drive than its boring styling would have you believe. A long wheelbase and relaxed springing meant it was a cruiser, not a sprinter, but it could hustle along deceptively quickly. The 1.3- and 1.5-litre engines were lively and economical, too. Like fine wine, the 305 improved with age – the estate version was huge, and the facelifted models of 1983 were boosted by 205GTi power. All that held it back in the UK was the lack of a hatchback, and a definable image.
