Looking to get your Japanese car culture fix? Japfest Rock! should have you covered
Thousands of Japanese car fans will be heading to Corby next weekend for the second of this year’s Japfest events – Japfest Rock!
Taking place at the Rockingham Motor Speedway on 26 June, the event follows on from the original Japfest – now hosted at the Silverstone racing circuit – which attracted record numbers approaching 20,000. Japfest Rock, formerly known as Japfest 2, attempts to create more of a festival atmosphere with camping available on Saturday evening.
If you’re a fan of Japanese cars, there will be a lot to see, including the VTEC Challenge series racers, Drift Passenger Rides as well as the Show & Shine section. Many clubs will be in attendance too, with a significant amount of space dedicated to their own displays. For interesting cars not taking part in the club stands, there will be a section alongside the paddock for individual cars.
One of the other attractions for the more spirited Japanese car enthusiasts is of course the on-track action. There will be several track sessions throughout the day, which are open to drivers of all abilities, and last 20 minutes per session.
For those looking for something specific, or just inspiration for their next build, Japfest Rock’s retail village offers Japanese car parts, accessories, clothing and much more.
Advance weekend tickets are now available for just £22 and include camping on the Saturday evening, while advance entry tickets can also be purchased for £15, a saving of £5 on the gate price. Up to two Under 14s go free with each paying adult. Find out more, and book tickets for Japfest Rock here
