Variant name:ZAGATO , Aston Martin once again collaborated with the Italian styling house in 2002, to produce a very limited run of just 99 DB7 Zagatos, re-igniting a partnership first established in 1961 with the production of the legendary DB4 GT Zagato. Built on short wheelbase chassis which is a unique to this mode, and fitted with the DB7 GT V12 engine and power is transmitted through a 6 speed manual transmission via a twin plate clutch. Uprated suspension and brakes completes the picture and delivers a focused yet relaxed driving experience. A superb example of the Virage Volante which, being built in 1997, is one of the last to be hand built at the Newport Pagnell works. This particular example is finished in a stunning Dark blue (Porsche Nachtblau Metallic) with Parchment hides piped blue. Dark blue carpets and the dark blue convertible hood, which is in excellent condition, finish this elegant and timeless colour scheme. In addition to the usual luxurious Virage Volante specification, this particular car is fitted with the OZ wheels commonly fitted to the 6.3 litre cars. Being a late built model, the car also benefits from the 4 speed ‘Torqueflite’ automatic transmission (rather than the 3 speed version fitted to earlier cars), later and more comfortable seats and individual dashboard instrumentation. First registered in Holland where it formed part of a significant collection of classic cars, this car was imported into the UK in 2012 where is it was UK registered. Under his ownership, a great deal of work was completed by renowned Aston Martin specialists R.S. Williams. This included a £19,000 engine rebuild completed in 1998, during which it was bored out to 4.2 Litres. Variant name:V6 , Styled by the renowned William Towns, the Aston Martin DBS was unveiled to the public in 1967, replace the long serving DB4, 5 and 6 models. The new elegant design went on to form the basis of a line of Aston Martin cars, produced over 20 years. Variant name:VANTAGE ZAGATO , Announced in 1985 the AM V8 Vantage Zagato, reunited the famed Carroseria Zagato with Aston Martin after a 25 year break. Just 50 production cars and 2 prototypes were built, with rolling chassis production from Newport Pagnell and the aluminium coachwork hand formed and fitted at the Zagato factory nr. Milan in Italy. Featuring the ‘X’ pack 430 bhp V8 engine, lightweight Vantage chassis, propelled the car from 0-60 in 4.8 secs and a top speed of 186 mph. More compact than the Newport Pagnell bodied cars, the V8 Vantage Zagato is over 10% lighter and 7 inches shorter, improving both the roadholding and braking performance.
