The timing for this completed Prototype is most topical, as the Gilbern Owners’ Club is celebrating 40 years of the club and 50 years of the marque in 2009
Originally designed in late 1969 with body styling by Trevor Fiore, the Gilbern T11 sports car was intended to appear at the Geneva Motor Show in 1971, but alas the project was cancelled in June 1971. Running gear for the T11 incorporated the Austin Maxi engine and gearbox.

Current owner of the T11 Prototype Gordon Johnstone has spent the last nine years restoring his car for the road. This incorporated much development work as no T11 was ever fully finished, such as interior panelling, trim and doors.

The timing for this completed Prototype is most topical, as the Gilbern Owners’ Club is celebrating 40 years of the club and 50 years of the marque in 2009. Gordon’s T11 was making its post restoration show debut at the GOC National Day at the Shuttleworth Collection, Old Warden, near Biggleswade, Beds, on Sunday June 21.
