Aston Martin at Newport Pagnell

Fight to save Aston site

More than 2000 letters have been gathered in less than two weeks objecting the planned Tesco superstore on the famous AM site in Newport Pagnell

The message is strong: it's the death of another High Street and the death of 200 years of world famous coach building in the heart of England.
Plans to build a Tesco superstore on the site of the former Aston Martin factory in Newport Pagnell have sparked a protest among local residents and enthusiasts of the world famous marque – and over 2000 letters of complaint have already been gathered by the organisers of the protest against the retail development.

Aston martin enthusiasts and Newport Pagnell residents joined forces at Bonhams’ Aston Martin auction to demonstrate against plans for a new Tesco supermarket at the old factory.

A procession of classic cars led the protest through the town before converging on the high-profile auction, which was taking place over the road from the new store’s proposed location.

During the run-up to the demonstration, more than 2000 letters of protest against Tesco were received by the organisers.
