Rolls-Royce will be uncovering its new ‘concept’ car at the Geneva Motor Show - but don't be fooled by the tag; it's an early preview of next year's sub-Phantom entry-level model, tagged at around £175,000.
Although there are various BMW components hidden under the skin, the platform underpinning the RR4 is said to be a bespoke effort. And there will be a great deal of pressure on Rolls-Royce engineers to ensure that ride quality is up there with the larger car.
Styled to appear remarkably similar to the RR4, the 200EX, is considerably smaller - although in real terms, it is still a large car, comfortably upsizing from the 'volume' opposition from BMW (7-Series LWB) and Mercedes-Benz (S-Class). No details of what power unit, transmission or chassis the RR4 (or indeed the 200EX) wiil use, but expect a healthy input from the 7-Series, in much the same way the Bentley Continental and VW Phaeton are closely related.
