The latest version of the successful Lamborghini Gallardo has been unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Expo. Billed the fastest yet, the LP560-4 is now available in Spyder form.

Powered by the same 560bhp V10 engine, and boasting a number of visual modifications, the latest Gallardo is hoped slow the company's slide in sales – an issue that's affecting the entire supercar market in the wake of the global economic slowdown.

The car is a rival for the likes of the new Ferrari F430 16M, which also enjoyed its first public debut at this week's west coast event. The price hasn't been announced yet, but expect UK deliveries from spring 2009.
