Hornby is pinning its hopes for a bumper Christmas on the James Bond Quantum of Solace set, which they have recently released, along with a Lewis Hamilton racing car, in their Scalextric range.
Profits for the company, which owns the Airfix, and Corgi brands, fell from £2.7m to £1.8m for the six months to September 30. But the company is pinning its hopes on the James Bond scalextric set, which features a race between 007’s Aston Martin DBS and an Alfa Romeo 159; and the Lewis Hamilton McLaren Mercedes MP4-22 as the ultimate stocking fillers.
The Quantum of Solace set retails for £80.00, and the Hamilton car for £34.99
