The bust was commissioned following the theft of the original from the clubhouse of the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) at Silverstone in 1999. Following its recovery, club members agreed to lend the replacement to Beaulieu.
Bette Hill, widow of motor racing legend Graham Hill, recently attended the National Motor Museum with her daughter Brigitte Haas to receive a bust of her late husband, twice F1 World Champion, in 1962 and 1968.

The bust was commissioned following the theft of the original from the clubhouse of the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) at Silverstone in 1999. Following its recovery, club members agreed to lend the replacement to Beaulieu.

The original sculpture was presented to Damon Hill, the club’s President in January by Detective Chief Inspector Tricia Kirk of Northamptonshire Police. The life-size bust, valued at £10,000 was formerly identified by the original sculptor, Amy Goodman.

The replica bust, sculpted from the original moulding, will provided a bonus attraction for the National Motor Museum where it will be on display beside the ex Graham Hill Lotus 49, probably the most iconic of the Lotus Grand Prix cars.
