Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse

An even faster convertible Veyron is to go on show at Geneva, boasting Super Sport levels of performance

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse

This is Bugatti's latest special edition Veyron, the Grand Sport Vitesse. Due to be unveiled at the Geneva motor show, this will be the most powerful production roadster ever made, using the same upgraded V16 quad-turbocharged engine as the 267mph Veyron Super Sport.

Bugatti claims that it was the 'rapid success' of the Super Sport that convinced the executives to allow a Grand Sport with the added performance. The torque figure has been confirmed - 1106 lb ft, which puts it at the same level as the world record-holding Super Sport. This is achieved by fitting four upgraded turbochargers and bigger intercoolers. The chassis has also been upgraded to handle the extra power.

Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer commented: 'We gave our all to transfer the achievements of the Super Sport over to the Grand Sport, thereby turning open-top driving itself into an extraordinary experience at high speed'.
