CPP, the company that owns the Bowler and Spyker marques, is readying plans to build a new Jensen supercar at the former Jaguar site of Browns Lane in Coventry. Renderings of the new car, from Healey Sports Cars Switzerland Limited, the owners of the Jensen brand, have already appeared, alongside the announcement that it would be built in Coventry.

According to CPP development of this car is already at an advanced stage, so it's welcome news that plans for a new car production plant in Coventry have now been approved by the city council. This is good news for Coventry, because once plans reach fruition, it will create 200 new jobs.

CPP purchased the 23-acre site from Advantage West Midlands last year, and plans to combine all of its sites - spread across Coventry - into the new facility at Browns Lane. Coventry City Council's planning committee has approved the plans to build a car assembly plant, offices and parking for 105 vehicles on a 6.8 acre-plot (2.77 hectare)
