RM Auctions’ first sale of the year resulted in a number of million-dollar sales, including the top seller: the 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta ‘Competizione’, which sold for a record $ 8,140,000. Overall, the sale generated $ 36.4million in sales and an 89 percent sell-through rate.
Other highlights included a 1953 Allard JR ‘Le Mans’ Roadster – one of just seven built – that sold for $ 605,000, a world record for an Allard sold at auction. Another record came from the sale of a 1955 Lancia Aurelia B24S America Spider, fetching $ 825,000 – the most expensive Aurelia B24S sold at auction.
