Dan Kruse Classics hosted its Smithville, Texas auction on 3 March, offering the Dick Burdick collection - Located at the Central Texas Auto Museum. The collection included vehicles from some of the world’s most fabled personalities and historical events - bringing a final result of $4.83 million.
Highlights included a 1930 Cadillac Model 452 Fleetwood 'Madame X' Rumbleseat Coupe which sold for $418,000, a 1934 Duesenberg Model SJ Phaeton in the Style of Derham vehicle sold for $346,000 and a 1913 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Town by Brewster - once owned by the wife of Cornelius Vanderbilt II - sold for $286,000. The surprise of the auction was the 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Two Door Hardtop, selling for ,000.
Other interesting results include a 1970 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Limousine, once owned by country legend Johnny Cash, which sold for $49,500 and a 1964 Lincoln Continental convertible, owned by former President Lyndon B. Johnson, finishing at $46,200.
