IN THE WAKE of barn-find Astons out-appreciating the rest of classic car world, the DBS has been quietly gathering pace too – one fetched £107k at Bonhams’ recent Aston Martin sale. So the £49k Anthony Moody was asking for this low-ownership ’69 Vantage (it sold to Switzerland last month) didn’t look at all out of order.
As he says: ‘With the DB4, 5 and 6 commanding up to three times the price of cars in similar condition, they represent an excellent opportunity to acquire a six-cylinder Aston Martin from the handbuilt era of the marque.’
