Preview: Gooding & Company, Amelia Island, USA. 11 March

Bentley Bomb

A great opportunity to pick up a very rare – and original – Bentley and Gooding and Company's Amelia Island auction.

It’s already been described as being a Bentley rarity, and it’s on that basis that we’re picking out this 1955
R Type Continental Fastback as a desirable late entry for Gooding’s Amelia Island sale. The LHD car with floor-mounted gearshift, lightweight bucket seats and the larger 4.9-litre engine is about as rare as they come for this era.

It was originally sold in France before being exported to the USA, where New York-based Rolls-Royce and Bentley dealer JS Inskip took delivery. It’s described
as being in excellent condition and totally original, although it has been repainted once. Gooding is expecting huge interest in this one.
