A new specialist auctioneer, Historics at Brooklands, will open its doors to an array of motorcars, valued in excess of £2.5 million on the evening of 2nd June 2010. The new auction house will be based in the historic setting of Brooklands, often described as the birthplace of British motor sport.

The auction house will be the first in the UK to offer potential bidders the chance to make a bid online from the Historics at Brooklands website, in real-time. This new feature will give overseas bidders who are unable to make the sale a chance to bid on a lot for themselves. The auction will be covered online, with a live audio feed, so the bidder knows exactly what is going on, as well as an image of the lot as it's being auctioned.

A 1935 Bentley 3 ½ litre will be going under the hammer during the auction, and although the £75,000 - £90,000 valuation is fair, the winning bidder will also receive a free gift - Ownership of the British coach-building company that created it - Freestone & Web. The last-known genuine MGB works rally car will also be offered for auction, 35 years after its competitive farewell. One of only two MGB rally cars built in 1964, this example is expected to fetch offers in the region of £90,000 - £130,000,

Other highlights of the inaugural sale include a 1930 Bentley 4½ litre Vanden Plas Tourer, with vivid history and an estimated value of up to £775,000, a rare Aston Martin DB2/4 Drophead Coupé which will be returning home to be sold, 55 years after it was originally registered by the Brooklands Aston Martin dealer, and a pristine 1968 Mini Cooper ‘S’ with just 21,500 miles on the clock.

More than 64 classic and collector cars, their ages spanning seven decades and with a wide range of estimated values, will all go under the hammer in front of potential suitors on 2nd June 2010.
