A race-bred, Brands Hatch-winning 1965 Shelby 427 Competition Cobra, CSX3006, is the latest notable consignment to join the starting grid for RM Auctions highly anticipated 'Automobiles of London' sale. The sixth pure competition Cobra built, CSX3006 boasts an impeccable provenance and race history.

Delivered in April 1965, CSX3006 made its way to England early in life, purchased by the Chequered Flag racing team in 1966. Under their ownership the car went on to compete in several races during the 1966 season including at Goodwood, England and Zeltweig, Austria, and most significantly at Brands Hatch where it won the Ilford 500 with Bob Bondurant and co-driver David Piper behind the wheel.

CSX3006 eventually returned to North America where it was changed back to left-hand drive before more recently benefited from an extensive, well-documented restoration where it was re-converted to its Brands Hatch-winning configuration and colours.
