Brightwells Auctioneers has just secured this 1961 Aston Martin DB4 Convertible for its October 22 auction. Owned for the last 30 years by Bruce Robinson, most famous for being the writer and producer of Withnail & I, as well as Oscar-nominated screen writer for The Killing Fields, the car is bound to arouse major interest.

Fully restored over the past two years and featuring a triple-Weber carb conversion, factory-fitted low ratio axle for improved acceleration and various other performance mods, the DB4 is eminently usable as well as beautiful. According to Brightwells, the estimate is £250,000 - £300,000.

Just 70 Aston Martin DB4 Convertibles were made between 1961 and 1963 and it's extremely rare to find one at auction like this.
