Bruce Meyer, founder of the Petersen Automotive Museum, has been selected to recieve the Annual Dana Point Concours d’Elegance’s Automotive Icon award. This year's Dana Point Concours revolves around Le Mans racing in the '60s and features a number of special classes for entrants.
The Dana Point Concours, host of the premier celebration of automotive heritage in Southern California, will take place at the luxurious St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, California. The event will feature activities for all ages, including the Private Collection Tour, Beach Cruisers Show, art exhibition and much more.
Special classes for this year's event include the 'Legends of Le Mans Race Car' class and the 'Shelby Cars' class, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Cobra.
As part of his responsibilities as the Dana Point Concours Automotive Icon, Meyer will attend numerous activities throughout the two-day event. The Concours members will also present Meyer with the distinguished Automotive Icon Award during the concours reception, on Saturday evening, 23 June.
Enthusiasts who want to enter their vehicle should download and complete an exhibitor registration form and send to the appropriate chairman. Deadline to register is 18 May, for inclusion in the program book. For more information about the councours, visit www.danapointconcours.org.
