The Goodwood Revival is the best classic event in the world. Nowhere else serves up such a seamlessly rich mix of the greatest historic cars, the best racing, and attention to period detail, which all adds up to an unrivalled atmosphere. Like the Festival of Speed, every year it gets bigger and better.
This is an event that you can safely take all the family to, and it’s a measure of the sheer overload of the event that the racing, however fantastic a centrepiece, can seem almost incidental. There’s so much to see, from air displays, to mods and rockers ‘fighting’, to a classic funfair. On top of all that there’s a great trade area (look out for the Octane stand), a big Bonhams auction, and a cars for sale area. Even the parking field for pre-’66 cars tops most classic car shows you’ll go to.
Mere words can’t do the Revival justice. You really need to go there.
