The seventh Annual La Jolla Motor Car Classic is set to bring additional excitement to the event calendar in April, with its new date of Sunday 3 April. The move has been made to take advantage of the Californian spring time weather. This year’s show will take place at the Ellen Scripps Browning Park, overlooking the renowned La Jolla Cove and featuring over 150 automobiles in 30 specialty car classes.

The featured marque for 2011 is actually not a marque at all, but a nationality – German Automobiles. In addition the specialty car classes awards, this juried show will be also be recognizing winners in the following categories; a Winner’s Circle award (comprised of prior Best of Show and Best in Class winners), Director’s Choice, People’s Choice, Best in Show, Best in Restoration, and Excellence in Design. Celebrating the collector classics in America’s Finest City, the event will showcase top stateside automobiles, including Mercedes Benz Sedans, Auburn Speedsters, Jaguar Roadsters, Chevy Corvettes, Shelby Cobras, Packards, Ford Mustangs and Ferraris.

Preceding the show itself will be a book signing on Friday 1 April and a catered lunch plus car tour of San Diego's top car collector haunts on Saturday 2 April. Tickets to the Sunday Show are in advance and at the entrance.

'Moving the show to April will limit the chance the rain and make for a much milder climate,' said Trip Bennett, Co-Chair of the La Jolla Motor Car Classic Committee. 'The La Jolla Motor Car Classic has become a highly anticipated show for car enthusiasts around the nation and now with a prime springtime date, it will attract a higher caliber of automobiles.'

The registration fee to show your automobiles is 0 and all entrants must register by 1 March 2011 at LaJollaMotorCarClassic.com; The Classic is a juried show and entries are limited, so exhibitors are encouraged to register early.

Proceeds benefit the La Jolla Historical Society, and to obtain a registration form or to buy tickets, visit the event website or or call +1 619-233-5008.
