Following the huge success of previous 'Evening with' events at the splendid Royal Automobile Club, EFG International and BRM watches are pleased to announce An Evening with Land Speed Legends on 12 July 2011. The date has changed from mid-March, but the event itself, the venue and menus remain exactly as before.

A trio of the UK's land speed record breakers - Wing Commander Andy Green, Richard Noble OBE and Don Wales - will talk exclusively with David Tremayne, well-known journalist and acknowledged expert on land speed records.

Noble famously achieved a world land speed record of 633.468mph in 1983 driving Thrust2 and managed the ThrustSSC programme which saw Wing Commander Green set a supersonic record of 763.035mph.

Noble and Green are now working on the Bloodhound SSC project with the aim of pushing the world land speed record to over 1,000mph. The car is expected to be completed during 2011.

Wing Commander Andy Green describes his day job as a fighter pilot in the Royal Air force and being part of a land speed record team as a holiday job. He has set two World Land Speed Records and, although his flying duties for the RAF have finished (he now works for the Ministry of Defence in Whitehall), is an aerobatic pilot (at his own expenses) at weekends.

Don Wales, holder of the UK Land Speed Record for an electric car (139mph), announced recently that in the early spring of 2011 he will attempt to break his own electric record and the outright record set by his grandfather, Sir Malcolm Campbell, in 1925. He also has plans to attempt a new world land speed record for a battery car and has his sights set on 400mph.

Don Wales is the nephew of Donald Campbell and has clearly inherited the quest for speed. In May this year he twice broke the world land speed record for a lawnmower leaving it at 87.833mph. He also holds the world record for a steam powered car (148mph) as a member of Charles Burnett III's British Steam car team at Edwards Airforce base in August 2009.

Taking place in the luxurious surroundings of the famous Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, the evening will include a three-course with wine and a signed photograph as a memento.
