The 24th Annual Club Lotus Show and Festival takes place at Malvern Three Counties Showground on 17-18 April 2010. This is the biggest and best attended indoor Lotus Show in Europe and regularly attracts over 8,000 enthusiasts from all over the world.
This is a new venue for the show which has previously been held at Donington Park every year since 1987. Sadly Donington is no longer available but Malvern is a great alternative being located in a central and beautiful part of the country with excellent access from the M5.
There will be Lotus trade stands selling everything from new cars, new and used spares, photographs, memorabilia, clothing and accessories plus a large autojumble there’s something for everyone. We’ll be celebrating with a special display the 10th Anniversary of the breathtaking and rare 340R, the first of the Lotus circuit cars that eventually became the 2-Eleven.
2010 is the 50th anniversary of Lotus’ first Grand Prix victory when Stirling Moss triumphed in his Rob Walker Lotus 18 at Monaco. It’s also 40 years since Jochen Rindt and Lotus became World Champions before tragedy struck at Monza and with the help of Classic Team Lotus we’re planning to have special displays marking both of these important events in Lotus history. Classic Team Lotus will also be displaying several of their priceless historic cars including 49B R10 which Rindt drove to 2 wins during the 1969 Tasman series and the beautiful and revolutionary ground effect Type 79 F1 – the car that helped Mario Andretti win the 1978 F1 World Championship.
Hundreds of Lotus cars – both road and race - reflecting the great history and heritage of Lotus, will be displayed both inside the hall and on the club stands outside.
