- Formerly owned by the Governer of St Helena and showing just c.15,800 miles - In the current ownership since 1989 - Five speed gearbox Purchased new by Mrs C A E Baker in October 1984, this Morgan was subsequently shipped via the Bravo Sif to St Helena where her husband, Mr F E Baker CBE, was Governor. Returning to the UK in 1988, it was subsequently acquired by the vendor (the second owner) in 1989 with c.3,000 miles on its odometer. Registering just 15,857 miles at the time of cataloguing, it is finished attractively in Blue with Cream interior and is understood to be powered by a Ford XR3 engine mated to a 5 speed gearbox. Described as being in "good" condition as regards its bodywork, paintwork, engine and transmission with "a little wear" to the interior, the car is accompanied by an Owner's Handbook, assorted invoices and expired MoTs dating back to 2000. A low mileage example with just two owners, this handsome Morgan is expected to possess a fresh MoT by the time of sale.

**REDUCED** 1961 Morgan Plus 4 Super Sport We have for sale a most interesting and original Morgan 2-seat Plus 4 Super Sport that comes complete with the original Morgan Car Company Build sheet. This Morgan Plus 4 car was supplied new to a US Morgan distributor. It comes with the Triumph TR engine, sporting 2 twin choke Weber carburettors, Lawrence Tune rocker cover and correct twin tubular exhaust manifolds. In Brunswick green, with biscuit leather upholstery, it is in good condition, having had a top class wings off and glass out respray and colour change some years ago. These fantastic cars were capable of speeds up to 120 mph, making them potent sports cars with real competition potential. The Plus 4 Morgan was a distinct model in its own right and produced by Morgan as generally 2-seater sports cars. During the 1950s and early 1960s, these cars generally came with the Triumph TR engine and gearbox. In 1960, Morgan modified a few of these cars to compete in the Le Mans races and other similar endurance events, teaming up with Lawrence Tune to uprate the engine. More often than not class winners, the factory cars soon created a demand to modify standard production Plus 4 cars

Morgans evolved slowly, retaining distinctive, classic Morgan features like the sliding pillar independent front suspension shared with the first Morgan 3-wheelers and the marque’s classic body construction of lightweight panels over ash framing. But while evolution was slow, Morgans did evolve and this 1953 Plus 4 exemplifies the progression. It was built in 1953 as a righthand drive standard ‘Flat-rad’ drophead, then returned to the factory in January 1954 for conversion to lefthand drive. Later that year it was again back at Morgan’s where it was updated to its present configuration with the ‘new pattern’ raised headlamp arrangement, a ’rounded stone guard’ radiator surround and Cam Gears steering. It is also powered by the more powerful Triumph engine that was available from Morgan from mid-1953 instead of the previous model’s Standard Vanguard unit. Finished in a medium blue on the body with dark blue fenders, a medium blue leather interior and a dark blue cloth convertible top, this rare left-hand drive Morgan Plus 4 also is one of the more luxurious and expensive three position drophead coupe models. It has steel wheels with hubcaps, Firestone whitewall tires, dual rear-moun
