1967-1977 MONTEVERDI High Speed 375 specifications

Peter Monteverdi was a Swiss BMW dealer and racing driver who wanted to make an indelible mark on the luxury car marker, by offering one of his own. The Frua-styled 375 was the result, which went on to sell surprisingly well despite its huge price tag. Beneath that Italianate body beat the heart of a hefty Chrysler V8, which developed up to 390bhp – and it was held together by a tubular chassis. The later Berlinetta model was even more potent, thanks to the fitment of a Hemi engine from the mid-engined Hai. Its 450bhp was the recipe for thrills aplenty.
