Successor to the MGF saw replacement of Hydragas suspension with coil springs and multi-link rear axle. Steering was sharpened, the body gained 20% increase in torsional stiffness. The revised frontal elevation and aerodynamic package included an integrated lip spoiler on the bootlid. TF 115 1.6 litre entry-level model, mainstream TF 135 1.8 litre, the TF 120 Stepspeed 1.8 litre and the range-topping TF 160 VVC. Production stopped in 2005 but was re-launched under the ownership of Nanjing’s MG UK as the MG TF LE500.
