Wow - look at this! This 1950 MG TD has been meticulously restored and rebuilt over a period of 9 years with no expense spared. It is finished in ivory with green leather interior and matching radiator grille as was the ''rule''. The ash frame has been substantially replaced by Hutson of Bradford, the engine rebuilt with brand new twin SU carbs and the car is now presented in ''as new'' condition. The hood, side screens and tonneau cover are top quality tan canvas items with crystal clear pvc windows. The chrome is perfect though some of the parts (such as the side lamps) still retain the original finish. These are still excellent, demonstrating the condition of the original car.A great investment at £29995.

This TD is a 1953 car, originally registered in the UK and then taken out to the USA. ( Less than 2000 right-hand drive cars were produced ). It came back to the UK in 1990 and remained in the same ownership for 30 years, until purchased by me, after the elderly owner died, earlier this year. To my knowledge it has never been restored, though it has been kept 'up together'. I have had it thoroughly checked over and the reports are good eg. the chassis is sound ( and painted with some type of coating ), the body is straight and true and 99% sound - ie there are some cosmetic blemishes and very minor signs of corrosion in just one or two places eg. the edge of one rear wing. The wooden frame seems to be sound apart from an exposed crosspiece at the rear and an exposed side member, neither of which affect the structural integrity of the car. I don't know if the engine is original, as I can't find a number on it? It is certainly the right type of XPAG engine, it starts on the button and runs at the correct oil pressure. The car drives well, the suspension is sound and the steering is good. There is a leak on the nearside rear wheel cylinder, so cylinders are about to be replaced and new brake shoes fitted, to both rear wheels ( I already have these, ready for fitting ) The front one are relatively recent. The interior is tidy, as are the hood and side screens. The tonneau definitely looks to be 65 years old, but a new zip would make it usable. The red leather seats are presentable and may well be original, but the seat runners are missing, as is the door to the side-screen storage compartment. Both easy fixes, or just leave them as they are and have been for years. The car has been converted to negative earth at some time. This was an easy and common 'tweak' and enabled the installation of such items as a radio, 12v socket etc. The instruments all work, with the exception of the ignition light... an easy fix and not a problem, as there is an ammeter. All in all a nice, honest old TD that can be simply enjoyed as is ( We did a 25 mile run to a car show, last Sunday ) or be improved upon gradually, on those winter's evenings.
£16,950 Built on the 2nd January 1952, as TD 2, the TD was first registered in the UK prior to being registered in Jersey during the 1990’s. It has been restored at some time in it’s life, and is in smart BRG with a tan leather interior complimented by chrome wire wheels. Mechanically the MG has been enhanced with an MGA back axle together with MGB front hubs fitted with disc brakes. The BMC reconditioned engine appears to be enhanced as the performance is better than a standard MG TD II and is driven a MGB gearbox. There is a long history file with the car detailing it maintenance and service over the years Following the immediate post war success of the MG TC, Nuffield launched the updated design of the TD in 1949, an immediate success, designed with the export market in mind, the car was the first production MG to be offered in left hand drive, with a new chassis based on the MG YA, rack and pinion steering together with front coil springs and wishbones. The proven pre war design of the 1250 cc XPAG engine was continued, and provided the power unit throughout the T series range until production finished in the mid 1950's. Over 75% of the MG TD production was exported, with the im
