This genuine UK supplied overdrive MGB Roadster was first registered on the 5th March 1969 and was subject of a major rebuild in 1990. The MGB was treated to a brand-new Heritage shell, new wings and door skins, and was completely rebuild by a Midlands classic car specialist. Their paperwork states that the panel fit on the completed car was better than the MG Motor Company has ever achieved on their production models. The MG was also mechanically overhauled, the engine and gearbox checked and the brakes and suspension fully overhauled. XPD 388G first came to us in 2011 and has been with one owner since. Mileage since full restoration in 1990 is in the region of 15,000.
Prior to marketing the MG, a programme of work costing £10,000 has been carried. After 27 years since the rebuild, it was time to strip the car down again and carry out a full re-paint on the rust-free Heritage shell. The paint finish had begun to show signs of wear and in order to maintain the high restoration standards, our Malton Coachworks facility stripped the MG down to a rolling shell. The engine and all ancillaries were removed and the shell was treated to a full outer re-spray including engine bay and boot.
