1958-1968 MESSERSCHMITT Tg500 Tiger specifications

The main difference between the Tg500 and its lower powered predecessors was the extra wheel. Now with the full complement of four, the uprated 500cc 20bhp Sachs twin-cylinder was housed in a more suitable chassis. Performance of the ultimate go-faster bubble car was verging on the silly, with a top speed of over 75mph and a 0-60mph time of 18.7 seconds – enough to see off full-sized cars such as the Austin A30 and Morris Minor with ease. Sales were slow, though, with fewer than 500 built, and that makes the Tiger highly collectable today.
