DTM-inspired machine to debut at Frankfurt motor show.
Mercedes has revealed its latest incarnation of the C63 Coupe, the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe Edition 1, following the unveiling of the marque's new-for-2016 DTM challenger.
The package adds a number of juvenile features to the already bonkers Merc, with yellow stripes along the doorsills and rims the most noticeable additions, layered on to the Magno Selenite Grey matt paint- an exclusive shade available to the C63 S.
The car is set to make its public debut this month at the Frankfurt motor show later this month, alongside Mercedes C63 DTM race, which will make its competition bow in 2016.
Beyond its aesthetics, the range-topping C63 S comes with Carbon-ceramic brake discs as standard, which will be useful for those attempting to bring all 503bhp resonating from the 3982cc twin-turbo V8 to a stop. Combined with a lightweight chassis, it should do 0-60mph in four seconds flat.
It’s not a story of all straights and no bends, either. As with the standard C63, the Edition 1 C63 S is fitted with an electronically controlled limited-slip diff, unlike the mechanical system fitted to the non-S variation, and should handle very well for a big Merc as a result.
Prices for the Edition 1 haven’t been revealed yet, however the lesson of the form book suggests it should command £5000 extra compared to the standard car, bringing it somewhere in the ball-park of £71,000.
