1973 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC

car description

1973 MERCEDES-BENZ 450SLC 4-PASSENGER COUPE #107-024.12-003495. (Stock #3689.) These 4- passenger, 2-door, long wheelbase, pillarless cars were the top of the 2-door line-up for Mercedes-Benz in the 1970’s and 1973 was the only year in which they were built with the desirable and pretty chrome, non-extended bumpers. Finished in beautiful Carnellian Red with cognac leather interior, our car was purchased new by a local enthusiast who enjoyed driving the car between his Vail Colorado home and his Sutton Place, New York apartment. He cherished the car until his untimely passing in 1990 at which time he bequeathed the car to his sister, a serious local equestrian and Olympic medal winner who enjoyed a small but quality fleet of collector cars.We purchased the car from her estate in 2013 along with her Ferrari 246 GT, Jaguar XKE, Mercedes-Benz 220, and her two every-day driver/convertibles--a Saab 900 Turbo convertible. We then sold the car to another local (Bernardsville) enthusiast wished to bring the car back to daily-driver standards. He rebuilt the brakes, added a new Pioneer stereo system with Bluetooth and Sirius radio with state-of-the-art speakers in original enclosures, etc. N
