1971-1980 MERCEDES-BENZ 350/450SLC (C107) specifications

Mercedes took a bit of a shortcut to creating these 2+2 coupés. In effect, what you have is an R107 roadster with 14 inches added to the wheelbase, a fixed roof and some rear seats. Of course there’s a bit more to it that that, as the job was achieved whilst only adding 110lb to the car’s weight. Launched with a 3.5-litre V8, this was joined the following year by a 4.5-litre version that outsold the smaller engine by more than two to one. Elegant and well detailed, they are also considerably cheaper than the soft-tops.
